Forgive a beginner... when switching colors, you are ending off each color? So starting in row 6, for example, end off white, then yellow, etc.? Am I overthinking this?

Hi Mary Beth!

No, I do not end off the yarn after each color change. I have a tutorial on the blog demonstrating how I do the color changes that you might find helpful.

Here is the link:
http://whiskersandwool.blogspot.com/2010/07/changing-colors-tutorial-some-helpful.html

Or you can look at the sidebar on the left side of the blog under "Free Patterns and Tutorials" and you will find it there.

I hope this helps! :)

One more crazy question! Any hints on keeping tack of rows? I made this 4 square twice now - (love it!!) and the second one I needed to work on it when I could so it was hard to keep track of rows. Other than working with the pattern mext to me and stopping to mark it as I go, whats a good way to track work in progress? I know it will come with experience, nut a trick would be sweet!! Thanks again!!

Hi Mary Beth - The only tip I really have is that I often will use a post-it note on the chart and move it up as I complete each row. Nothing earth-shattering, but it may help. :)

Thank you for the pattern! I just finished making the potholder, and it is very pretty and was easy to make.
